Ways to Give

There are many ways to support the UNC Libraries:

• Cash Gifts

  Write a check to the University of Northern Colorado Foundation and mail it to:

  Use MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express online or call: 800-568-5213.

• Matching Gifts

  Corporate matching gifts are a great way to maximize personal contributions to UNC. Ask your human resources office if your employer offers this benefit, or check with the UNC Development Office.

• Securities

  Donating appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds is an easy way to support UNC that may also provide you with significant tax benefits beyond the usual charitable deduction.*

  Additionally, consider selling assets that have decreased in value and donating the proceeds to UNC as a charitable deduction.

  We can help with innovative gifts such as tangible personal property, closely held business interests, retirement plan gifts and life insurance.

  *Please be sure to check with your financial advisor if you have any questions about the deductibility of your gift.

• Planned Gifts

  Meet your financial goals and maximize your giving to UNC with a deferred gift, one that will benefit UNC in the future. Deferred gifts can be structured many ways such as bequests, charitable gift annuities, deferred gift annuities, charitable remainder annuity trusts or charitable remainder unitrusts. Deferred gifts may offer significant tax savings.

• Donations of Books and Other Materials

  University Libraries at the University of Northern Colorado cannot routinely accept donations of books, CDs, DVDs, VHS, and other materials.

  Exceptions might be considered for:

  • Collections that meet the interests of Archives & Special Collections. Please contact Jay Trask, Head of Archives & Special Collections to discuss such a donation.
  • Collections centering marginalized communities. Please contact Jennifer Leffler, Head of Collections & Discovery to discuss such a donation.
